Author Bio |
Grant Fletcher is the author of Life over Death, lives in Nashville, Tennessee, and is a graduate of the University of the South at Sewanee. I’ve had a passion for writing for many years but my ‘day job’ includes an enormous amount of proposal writing, so setting aside the time and energy to write for fun has been a challenge. I’ve had a number of potential stories pass through my mind, but the concept behind Life over Death sank deep enough into my conscience to warrant a full story. It was inspired by the lyrics of the wonderfully talented singer/songwriter Holly Williams and her song “Without Jesus Here With Me”. I hesitate to give it a religious genre status, but I’m unsure of the boundaries of some of the other related genres. So, I guess the genre of this first novel Life over Death is partly religious, partly mystical, and partly spiritual...think the Green Mile but, of course, not written by the brilliant Stephen King. While the genre is a bit difficult to define for this story, it is, no doubt, wholly a message of Hope and how it can be spread and validated in a world full of ‘situational-ethics’ challenges. It shows that the human race is still capable of steadying ourselves with a moral compass despite the temptations of corruption abound in our current society.
